Directions

From Loja:
Take a bus to Gualaquiza (5 1/2 hours.) You will go north through Zamora, Yantzaza, and El Pangui. About 20 minutes after the bus leaves the town of El Pangui, you will see a road forked off to the right, this is Chuchumbleza. There is a line of storefronts on the left side of that road. Get off the bus here.

From Cuenca:
Take a bus to Gualaquiza (5 hours). Take another bus that is going to El Pangui or Loja. After about 40-45 minutes you will see a road off to the left with a line of storefronts/shops on one side and a school up on a small hill on the other side. This is Chuchumbleza. Get off the bus here.

From Quito:
Go to Quitumbe bus terminal. Take a bus to Macas and then from Macas to Gualaquiza. (~14 hrs total.) Take another bus that is going to El Pangui or Loja. After about 40-45 minutes you will see a road off to the left with a line of storefronts/shops on one side and a school up on a small hill on the other side. This is Chuchumbleza. Get off the bus here.

Follow the road into Chuchumbleza. About 2 minutes walk and you will be at the town center with a big basketball/soccer pavilion and a church. Take a left at the church and follow that road to the Rio Zamora. Cross the walking bridge. Take a left at the other side of the bridge. Walk 5 minutes and you are there (the gate on the left of the path with the big clear lawn and house next to the river.) The path is sometimes muddy, so it is good to wear boots (the "Wellington" style boots that they sell in ferreterias here for $9/pair.) If there is a boat guy around, they might offer to take you right to the farm (1 minute boat ride) for anywhere from $0.25 to $3.
